Making a huge leap forward, ISI Dangkor Senchey FC is entering the world of professional football by competing in the Cambodian League 2 for the first time. The club will be facing off against Siem Reap FC at KMH Park on October 3rd, 2020 at 3:00pm.

Organized by the Cambodian Football Federation, League 2 is the second highest level of competition in Cambodia. Ten teams from across the country will be competing in the 2020 season and, as their first time competing at the professional level, ISI Dangkor Senchey knows that they have a challenge ahead of themselves.

“It’s a big task for us to compete in League 2. The teams are very strong, but it’s also a big opportunity for us and I feel like we have a good chance this season,” said Siek Sovann, ISI Dangkor Senchey General Manager. “The players feel motivated and excited. We’ll try our best to win, but our goal is to learn and see how good we can become,” he continued.

Formed in 2016, ISI Dangkor Senchey has always had their eyes set on entering the professional stage. After building their program and establishing themselves as a top team at the semi-professional level, they are ready to climb to the next level. “We dreamed about playing professionally, but we needed to build our foundations first. We’ve been preparing and, now with a strong community and good structure under the KMH Foundation, we are ready,” said Mr. Siek.

The stakes are high for all of the teams competing, with the league's champions being invited to join the Metfone League – Cambodia’s top level of competition. Yet, the ISI Dangkor Senchey players are focusing on what’s directly ahead of them, tackling challenges like training six days a week, TV interviews and the idea of playing at the national level.

“I’m happy to compete in Cambodian League 2 for the first time. I’m committed to doing my best in this competition and honoring all of the leaders of the team,” said Thour Keaseng, ISI Dangkor Senchey Team Captain. "As the team captain, I want all of our players to work hard and be ready to compete," he added.

Making huge strides forward while understanding the challenges ahead of them, ISI Dangkor Senchey is excited to continue growing as a football club and push their way to the top of the ranks. Kicking off on their home turf at KMH Park, the team is working hard and continuing to grow as they enter the professional level.
